Verdict: the Salem is the lowest-priced way into an Almost Heaven barrel, and it doesn’t skimp on the heater: it gets the same 6kW Harvia as the 4-person Pinnacle. The catch is size. Its 39" benches are for sitting, not lying down, so it suits one or two regular users. This review is based on Almost Heaven’s and Select Saunas’ published specs and prices on Oct 13, 2026. We haven’t tested it ourselves.

Image: Select SaunasWhat stands out: a 6kW heater in the smallest barrel means less air to heat; Select says it reaches 180–200°F in 45–60 minutes. The 72" × 47" footprint fits narrow side yards and patios where a 6-by-6 barrel won’t. Tradeoffs: 39" benches mean sitting upright, there’s no porch to keep snow and rain off the door, and like every barrel there’s only one bench level. Select says two people can usually assemble it in six hours or less with a cordless drill.
