Verdict: the Timberline is for households that want a cabin, not a barrel: full stand-up headroom, an upper bench for more heat, room to lie down, and a covered porch. It’s overkill for two people sitting upright. This review is based on Almost Heaven’s and Select Saunas’ published specs and prices on Oct 9, 2026. We haven’t tested it ourselves, and we don’t rate it on comfort we haven’t felt.

What stands out: an 88" interior means nobody ducks, and the 75" × 36" upper bench is long enough to lie on. Because heat rises, the upper bench is the hottest seat, so you can choose your heat by where you sit. The porch gives you a covered place to cool off. Tradeoffs: it’s nearly double the price of the 4-person Pinnacle barrel, it needs a 40A circuit instead of 30A, shingles are extra, and you need a 128" × 112" level base plus a plan for flatbed offloading.
Who should buy it
- Families or hosts who regularly have four or more people in the sauna.
- Anyone tall who wants to stand, or who wants to lie flat.
- Buyers who want the sauna to look like an outbuilding rather than a barrel.
Who should skip it
- Two people sitting upright: the Almost Heaven Salem (paid link) is $4,176 at Select Saunas. See our best 2-person outdoor saunas.
- Four people on a budget: the Almost Heaven Pinnacle (paid link) is $5,303 and needs only a 30A circuit.
- Anyone whose panel can’t spare 40A: get an electrician’s quote first.
