Sweaty Yeti Sauna Review (2026): Prices, Models and Who It’s For

Sweaty Yeti builds finished, insulated sauna buildings in a Utah factory and sets them on your pad, from $29,700 for a 4–6 person 8′ × 9′ unit up to $55,200 with a cold plunge room. Here’s what each of the eight models includes, the real all-in cost, and when a $5,000–$10,000 kit makes more sense, from Sweaty Yeti’s published pages, not an in-person visit.

Verdict: Sweaty Yeti is for buyers who want a finished outdoor sauna building, not a kit: insulated walls, a shingled roof, a cedar sauna room and, on larger models, a cold plunge room, changing room or gym, built in a factory and set on your pad by its crew. Start with the Sweaty Yeti Sauna ($29,700, 4–6 people, 8′ × 9′) if you just want the sauna; step up to the Sauna Plunge ($51,700) only if you want a cold plunge under the same roof; pick the Sauna Max ($46,900, 8–12 people) for groups or a rental. The tradeoffs are big: it costs three to six times a cedar barrel or cabin kit, the factory build takes about 60–90 days, you pay in full before construction starts, and it needs a 50–80A, 240V service. This review is based on Sweaty Yeti’s published model pages, shop, features sheet, owner’s manual and terms on Oct 16, 2026. We haven’t seen or used a Sweaty Yeti in person.

*Shop and product-page prices on Oct 16, 2026. Every model page says “Includes delivery within 250 miles” and “on-site install equipment rentals not included.” The Features Sheet PDF (dated Apr 8, 2026) lists lower base prices (for example $28,300 for the Sauna), so treat the shop price as current. Seat counts for the Plus models differ between the model pages and owner’s manual (6–8) and the product pages (4–6); ask before you order.

#1 Best if you just want the sauna

Sweaty Yeti Sauna

$29,700at Sweaty Yeti, Oct 16, 2026
  • 4–6 person modular sauna
  • 8′ × 9′, 48 sq ft
  • HUUM electric heater
  • Delivery within 250 mi included
  • 60–90 day factory build
  • Heat5.0not published
  • Install7.0needs a 240V circuit
  • Warranty5.0Limited warranty on request (terms not published)
  • Value5.8$4,950 per seat

What stands out: the only 8′ × 9′ model and the lowest price in the line. You get a 4–6 person cedar sauna room with a HUUM heater inside an insulated, shingled building with a cedar entry deck, delivered within 250 miles and set in place. Options include an outdoor shower on the deck (+$1,773 unheated to +$5,164 heated and frost-free), metal or cedar siding (+$925 to +$1,800), a metal roof (+$705), a side window (+$1,230) and infrared panels (+$4,500). Tradeoffs: about three times the price of an Almost Heaven Timberline cabin kit with the same 6-seat maximum; heater kW and warranty length aren’t published; the FAQ and owner’s manual list different amp ratings (50A vs 60A), and the heated shower requires 60A.

#2 Best with a cold plunge under one roof

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Plunge

$51,700at Sweaty Yeti, Oct 16, 2026
  • 4–6 person sauna + plunge room
  • 8′ × 17′, 136 sq ft
  • Plunge-brand tub + chiller
  • Optional outdoor shower
  • 60–90 day factory build
  • Heat5.0not published
  • Install7.0needs a 240V circuit
  • Warranty5.0Limited warranty on request (terms not published)
  • Value5.0$8,617 per seat

What stands out: a 4–6 person sauna plus a separate cold plunge room in one 8′ × 17′ building, so you walk from heat to cold without going outside. The owner’s manual says the plunge system is made by Plunge, with its Evolve Standard chiller, a circulation pump and filter. The room can add a mini-split for heat and AC (+$6,640), a cove heater (+$1,430) and an outdoor shower. Tradeoffs: $22,000 more than the Sauna; it needs a 60A service per the product page (the manual lists 70A, or 80A with a mini-split); and a plunge you add to a smaller sauna yourself costs far less (see below).

#3 Best for groups and rentals

Sweaty Yeti Sauna Max

$46,900at Sweaty Yeti, Oct 16, 2026
  • 8–12 person sauna
  • 8′ × 17′, 136 sq ft
  • HUUM electric heater
  • 75A per product page
  • 60–90 day factory build
  • Heat5.0not published
  • Install7.0needs a 240V circuit
  • Warranty5.0Limited warranty on request (terms not published)
  • Value7.3$3,908 per seat

What stands out: the whole 8′ × 17′ building is sauna, rated for 8–12 people. Sweaty Yeti pitches it for homes, vacation rentals, boutique gyms and resorts. At 12 seats it’s the lowest price per seat in the line (about $3,900). Infrared panels are 8 for +$9,000 here. Tradeoffs: the product page calls for a 75A connection (the manual says 70A), which may mean a service upgrade; it’s a large room to heat for two people; and the price still sits well above a 6-person cabin kit.

What a Sweaty Yeti really costs

The starting price is the building delivered within 250 miles. Here’s an example Sauna build using Sweaty Yeti’s option prices on Oct 16, 2026. It’s an illustration, not a quote:

Almost Heaven prices at Select Saunas from our Timberline and Pinnacle reviews, checked Oct 15, 2026; SaunaCloud from our SaunaCloud review. Price per seat = price ÷ the maker’s maximum seat count.

The gap is what you pay for: an insulated building with drywall, a roof, an entry deck, a floor drain and optional shower, plumbing and HVAC, assembled before it arrives. If you only need a hot room, a kit is the far cheaper path. See barrel vs cabin.

Power: the published amp numbers don’t agree

Every Sweaty Yeti needs a dedicated service run by a licensed electrician. Sweaty Yeti’s own pages give different figures, so get the number for your exact build in writing:

  • About/FAQ page: Sauna 240V/50A; Sauna Plunge 240V/60A.
  • Product pages: Sauna Plunge, Sauna Plus and Plus Barrel Plunge 60A; Sauna Fit 50A; Sauna Max 75A; Fit Studio 20A. The heated shower, mini-split and cove heater options each say they require a 60A connection.
  • Owner’s manual (July 2026): Sauna 60A; Sauna Plunge and Plus Barrel Plunge 70A (80A with mini-split); Sauna Max 70A; Sauna Fit and Sauna Plus 60A (80A with mini-split).
  • Process page: “a 20-amp 120V or up to 80-amp 240V connection” depending on model.

An 8 kW Almost Heaven heater, by comparison, runs on 240V/40A. If your panel is already busy (hot tub, EV charger), price a panel or service upgrade before you choose a model. Our cold-climate install guide covers the circuit and pad planning.

Timeline and how buying works

Units arrive by truck and trailer and are set on your pad. Photo courtesy Sweaty Yeti.
  1. Order: pick a model and options online and pay a 10% deposit (refundable for 5 days, per the terms).
  2. Site review: Sweaty Yeti reviews your property virtually and recommends site prep; high-snow areas may need engineering at extra cost.
  3. Final payment: the balance is due within 10 days. Construction doesn’t start until it’s paid (or financing funds).
  4. Factory build: about 60–90 days. Sweaty Yeti says each unit goes through 551 quality checkpoints. You’re asked to inspect the unit before it ships; if you don’t, the terms say you accept its fit and finish as delivered.
  5. Meanwhile, your contractor prepares a level gravel or concrete pad (with drainage if you add a shower), the power, and water (a garden hose works for the shower and plunge).
  6. Delivery: truck and trailer; a crane, if your site needs one, is on you. Local contractors connect water and power.

Permits: Sweaty Yeti’s process page says the unit itself “usually doesn’t require a building permit,” but plumbing or electrical work may. Its terms make permits and HOA approval the buyer’s job, so ask your city first.

Cold plunge: built in, not sold separately

A plunge room shown with optional upgrades, including the slat accent wall. Photo courtesy Sweaty Yeti.

Sweaty Yeti doesn’t sell a standalone cold plunge tub. Its plunges come inside three buildings: the Sauna Plunge ($51,700, one tub), the Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge ($55,200, barrel-style tub; adding heat to the barrel is +$364 on the features sheet) and the Plunge Max ($44,400, no sauna, room for two tubs; the second is +$9,180). The tub and chiller are made by Plunge. If you already have a sauna, or want one for less, a separate chiller tub costs a fraction of that. See our best cold plunges with a chiller.

Is a Sweaty Yeti worth it for an Airbnb?

Sweaty Yeti markets the Sauna Max to vacation rentals. Using the AirDNA figures in our sauna-for-Airbnb guide:

  • At a $250 nightly rate, 120 booked nights and the 7.4% national lift, a sauna adds about $2,220 a year. The $29,700 base Sauna alone is about 13 years of that, before installation.
  • At an $800 nightly rate, 150 booked nights and the 9.4% rural lift, it’s about $11,280 a year, so the base price is about 2.6 years of lift.

Those are arithmetic on example inputs, not forecasts. A turnkey building makes the most sense for higher-rate, group-sized rentals; for a typical listing, a $4,000–$10,000 kit pays back much sooner. Ask Sweaty Yeti whether its limited warranty covers rental use.

Who should buy a Sweaty Yeti

  • You want a finished building with insulation, a roof, lighting and a deck, not a kit to assemble.
  • You want a sauna plus a cold plunge, changing room or gym in one structure.
  • You’re within delivery range of Utah or will pay for longer delivery, and your site has truck-and-trailer access.
  • Your electrical service can take a 50–80A, 240V circuit (or you’re budgeting for an upgrade).
  • You can wait two to three months and pay in full up front.

Who should skip it

  • Budget under about $10,000: an Almost Heaven Pinnacle barrel ($5,303) or Timberline cabin ($9,963) at Select Saunas costs a fraction. See best barrel saunas and saunas under $8,000.
  • Want infrared built to an odd space: SaunaCloud designs a far-infrared room or outdoor build to your site. Read our SaunaCloud review or outdoor infrared saunas.
  • Need it soon: the factory build alone is about 60–90 days.
  • Want to pay on delivery: the balance is due within 10 days of ordering, and the deposit is non-refundable after 5 days.
  • Want a published warranty term before you buy: the limited warranty is “available upon request.” Ask for it in writing first.
  • Tight lot or no truck access: delivery is by truck and trailer; a crane, if needed, is extra.

FAQ

How much does a Sweaty Yeti sauna cost?

On Oct 16, 2026, starting prices ran from $29,700 (Sauna, 8′ × 9′) to $55,200 (Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge, 8′ × 17′), with the Sauna Max at $46,900 and the Sauna Plunge at $51,700. Options such as showers, siding, windows and infrared panels add $250 to $9,000+ each. Sweaty Yeti’s financing page shows an estimate of about $260 a month on a $28,000 sauna through GreenSky; check the APR and terms yourself.

Is delivery included?

Delivery within 250 miles is included on every model page. Sweaty Yeti delivers and places units in the lower 48 states with a personalized quote, and Alaska, Hawaii and Canada cost extra. On-site equipment rentals such as a crane aren’t included.

How long does a Sweaty Yeti take?

Sweaty Yeti’s FAQ says the factory build takes about 60–90 days and installation takes a day once it’s delivered. Construction starts only after full payment.

What electrical does a Sweaty Yeti need?

A 240V service of roughly 50–80A depending on model and options (the Fit Studio is 20A). Sweaty Yeti’s FAQ, product pages and owner’s manual list different amp figures for some models, so confirm the number for your build before your electrician quotes it.

What heater does it use, and how hot does it get?

A HUUM STEEL electric heater (or equal) with a HUUM UKU controller, per the owner’s manual. Sweaty Yeti doesn’t publish the heater’s kW or a maximum temperature. The manual lists a 30–45 minute heat-up as normal.

Does Sweaty Yeti sell a cold plunge by itself?

No. Its cold plunges come built into the Sauna Plunge, Sauna Plus Barrel Plunge and Plunge Max buildings, using a Plunge tub and chiller.

Can it handle snow?

The roof is built for a 30 lb per sq ft snow load as standard, and Sweaty Yeti can engineer it for your local load at extra cost. It’s insulated to R-13 in the walls and R-30 in the ceiling and floor.

Did you visit or use one?

No. This review is built from Sweaty Yeti’s published pages, features sheet, owner’s manual and terms. See how we score.
