$8,000 buys a lot of sauna in 2026, from a two-person infrared cabin you can assemble in a spare room to a traditional cedar barrel with a real stone heater. The catch is that these models need very different things from your house. Some plug into a dedicated 120-volt, 20-amp outlet; others need a 240-volt circuit. Below are six models from brands with public affiliate programs, all compared on the same specs, with every number linked to the brand’s own page.

*Prices as shown on each brand’s product page on Oct 9, 2026. Several were sale prices, and these brands change prices often. Price per seat = price ÷ listed seats, rounded. †Plunge’s comparison chart lists infrared capacity as “up to 3 people” across its infrared line but doesn’t give a seat count for the Standard model; its interior is 50½" wide. ‡Ice Barrel’s page links to warranty details we did not capture. The picks
The Equinox 3 has the combination most indoor buyers want: full-spectrum heat (five far-infrared plus two full-spectrum heaters), a 165°F maximum, room for three, and a plug-in setup. Sun Home specifies a dedicated 120V, 20A GFCI circuit with a NEMA 5-20 outlet. That’s a common circuit, but it still has to be dedicated, so no power strips or extension cords. The cabin is kiln-dried eucalyptus, measures 62.3" wide × 45.9" deep × 77.7" tall, and weighs 642 lbs. Sun Home lists a 7-year warranty and free shipping.
Good to know
- Standard-voltage circuit
- Per-heater intensity control (0–100%)
- Magnetic panel assembly, no special tools (per Sun Home)
Watch for
- Power cord exits the back-left of the roof, so plan the outlet on that side
- No red-light panel option on Equinox
- Indoor only
The Amplify III pairs full-spectrum infrared with extra halogen heaters and is rated to 170°F “in ideal conditions,” the highest infrared figure on this list. It needs more from your panel, though: a dedicated 240V, 20A circuit and a NEMA 6-20R outlet. Its published exterior dimensions (62.3" W × 77.7" H × 45.9" D) and weight (642 lbs) match the Sun Home Equinox 3 exactly. Ice Barrel’s shipping note also refers to “your Sunlighten Sauna delivery.” We couldn’t confirm whether the two share a platform, so compare warranties and support before deciding. Ice Barrel marks it FSA/HSA eligible.
Good to know
- Highest stated infrared temperature here
- 3 seats, double-pane doors
Watch for
- 240V circuit likely means electrician work
- Delivered curbside on a pallet; no carry up steps (per Ice Barrel)
- Outdoor use requires a separately sold cover, or the warranty is void
If you don’t need full-spectrum heaters, the Solstice 3 gives you three seats and ten far-infrared heaters for $700 less than the Equinox 3, which works out to about $2,100 per seat. The trade-off is heat: Sun Home lists a 140°F maximum versus 165°F on the Equinox. Same dedicated 20A GFCI circuit and NEMA 5-20 outlet, same 7-year warranty, and a nearly identical footprint (45.9" × 62.3" × 77.7", 622 lbs).
Plunge’s Standard infrared sauna runs on a dedicated 120V, 20A circuit (NEMA 5-20). Plunge says assembly takes about an hour, using a tongue-and-groove design. It reaches up to 160°F; the Pro version goes to 175°F but needs 240V. The cabin is Canadian hemlock, 53⅛" W × 55¹⁄₁₆" D × 79" H, about 540 lbs, and needs 26.5" of clearance in front for the door. The warranty is split: 5 years on cabinetry and heaters, 2 on electronics, 1 on glass and power supplies. Standard curbside delivery is $250 in Plunge’s core zones.
The only true traditional sauna here: a 6' × 4' western red cedar barrel for two, with a HUUM Drop 4.5 kW heater (or a Homecraft Slim 5 kW for $8,295) included in the price. It runs 110–230°F as either a dry or steam sauna, but expect a 50–90 minute heat-up depending on temperature and weather. It can go indoors without a roof kit or outdoors with one ($8,795 with the cedar bevel roof kit and HUUM heater, per Titan’s variant pricing). It’s handcrafted in Ohio and ships from SISU in 4–6 weeks. Titan includes a 1-year warranty. The product page doesn’t state the electrical requirement, so ask before you order.
At $4,499 (marked as a limited-time offer; regular $5,500), the Solara 2 is the cheapest two-seat option here. It uses six carbon-coated infrared panels (1,800W total) plus a full-length 660 nm/850 nm red and near-infrared light panel. The listing says it reaches 150°F in about 25 minutes. It’s built from Canadian hemlock, measures 51" W × 41" D × 71" H, weighs 309 lb, and carries a 1-year limited warranty. That warranty is much shorter than Sun Home’s 7 years, and it’s the main trade-off for the lower price.
How to choose
1. Start with your electrical panel, not the brochure
This decides more than anything else. On this list, the Equinox 3, Solstice 3 and Plunge Standard all specify a dedicated 20-amp circuit with a NEMA 5-20 outlet. The Amplify III needs a dedicated 240V, 20A circuit. Traditional heaters usually need 240V too; confirm with the seller. If you’d need a new circuit either way, get an electrician’s quote before comparing sauna prices.
2. Decide how hot you want it
Published maximums range from 140°F (Solstice) to 170°F (Amplify III) for infrared, and up to 230°F for the traditional Eddy. Infrared and traditional saunas heat differently, so the number alone doesn’t tell the whole story. See our traditional vs infrared guide.
3. Measure the room, the door and the path
Check exterior dimensions, door-swing clearance (26.5" for the Plunge Infrared) and delivery terms. Ice Barrel, for example, says its saunas are left on a pallet and can’t be carried up steps.
4. Compare warranties line by line
Warranties on this list range from 1 year to 7 years, and some are split by component. Read the brand’s warranty page, not just the badge.
FAQ
Can I use HSA or FSA money?
Some brands offer HSA/FSA checkout through partners. Sun Home works with TrueMed, Plunge tags these products “truemed-eligible,” and Ice Barrel labels the Amplify III FSA/HSA eligible. Sun Home says eligible customers complete a brief health survey through TrueMed. Eligibility depends on your plan, so check with TrueMed and your plan administrator.
Do these prices include shipping?
Sun Home lists free shipping on these models. Plunge lists $250 standard curbside delivery in core zones for its infrared sauna. Titan advertises free shipping on all orders, and SISU ships the Eddy in 4–6 weeks. Always check the final checkout total.
