Our picks
Design concept: SaunaCloudThe Atlas One is SaunaCloud’s one-person line. You send your room’s dimensions, get 3D renderings and an itemized proposal, and a cut-to-spec wood kit ships with VantaWave far-infrared heaters, the power supply and controls, plus electrical plans. SaunaCloud’s example build is 49.5" × 52.25" × 84" outside, 6kW on 240V. Its FAQ says some small builds can run on a 120V/20A circuit, so check your proposal. Red light LEDs are built into the bench where configured; SaunaCloud says that light is a complimentary inclusion not covered by the warranty.
Tradeoffs: no fixed price, a 7–11 week lead time, and you supply the glass door, the room, and a contractor plus licensed electrician. It’s infrared, so no stones or steam.
Image: Select SaunasA true one-person indoor kit at 53" W × 36" D × 78" H, so a closet-sized corner can work. It comes with a 4.5kW Harvia KIP heater on 240V/30A, a tempered glass door and an LED light, and Select lists an optional 6kW upgrade. Made in the USA with a limited lifetime warranty on the room.
Tradeoffs: one seat only and a 31" bench, so you sit upright. Needs a 240V/30A hardwired circuit.
Infrared or traditional for one person?
- Choose the Atlas One if you have an odd-shaped space, want a sauna that fits it exactly, and prefer infrared’s lower air temperature.
- Choose the Logan if you want hot air, stones and water on the rocks, a set price, and a kit that ships without a design phase.
- Still deciding? Read traditional vs infrared and our best infrared saunas guide.
How to choose a 1-person sauna
- Measure the space and the door path. Allow clearance around the room and check that panels fit through doorways.
- Check your electrical early. Both picks above use 240V in their standard setup; get an electrician’s quote first.
- Sit-up vs lie-down. One-person rooms are for sitting. If you want to lie down, look at 2-person rooms.
- Budget for install. SaunaCloud’s FAQ estimates $500–$2,000 for a contractor and $200–$800 for an electrician; the Logan also needs an electrician.
FAQ
How much space does a 1-person sauna need?
The Logan is 53" × 36". SaunaCloud’s example Atlas One is 49.5" × 52.25", and its FAQ lists a 4×4 ft interior as the minimum for one person.
Can a 1-person sauna plug into a regular outlet?
Not these as standard. The Logan needs 240V/30A hardwired. SaunaCloud’s example Atlas One is 240V, though its FAQ says some small builds use a dedicated 120V/20A circuit.
