Short answer: get a Monolight if you want a set price under $3,500, a cabin that runs on a regular household outlet (One and Duo), and delivery in about a week. Get SaunaCloud if you want an infrared room built to fit your exact space, a longer heater warranty, and you’re fine with a contractor build, a quote-based price and an 8–12 week timeline. Specs come from monolightsauna.com and saunacloud.com on Oct 22, 2026. We haven’t hands-on reviewed either.

Image: MonolightTwo seats, 47.2" × 41.3" outside, six carbon panels (1,560W) and a 110V plug rated for a standard 15A outlet. It ships in two boxes and goes together in under an hour, per Monolight. Tradeoffs: 2-year warranty, fixed size, and indoor only. Solo users can save $700 with the Monolight One (paid link) ($2,299); the Monolight Pro (paid link) ($3,349) adds full-spectrum heaters and more room but needs a 20A T-slot outlet. Full details are in our Monolight review.
Design concept: SaunaCloudBest when your space is an odd size, you’re remodeling anyway, or you want the heater layout and finish designed around you. You see the design and an itemized quote before paying. Tradeoffs: costs far more than a Monolight once installed, takes two to three months, and you hire the contractor and electrician. Choose Monolight if…
- Your budget is under $3,500 and you want to know the full price up front.
- You don’t want to hire anyone. The One and Duo plug into a regular 15A outlet; Monolight recommends a dedicated circuit.
- You want it this month, and a 30-day return window matters to you.
Choose SaunaCloud if…
- A standard box won’t fit your closet, basement corner or remodel.
- You want a longer warranty and a room meant to last, and can wait 8–12 weeks.
- You want an outdoor infrared room. Monolight is indoor only; compare options in outdoor infrared saunas.
Want stones, steam and 180°F air instead? That’s a traditional sauna. Read traditional vs infrared or compare SaunaCloud vs Almost Heaven.
FAQ
Is SaunaCloud worth the extra cost over Monolight?
Only if you need what a custom build adds: a room sized to your space, a 7-year warranty instead of 2 years, or an outdoor build. If a fixed cabin fits and you want a set price, Monolight costs far less. On Oct 22, 2026, Monolight ran $2,299–$3,349, while SaunaCloud’s FAQ puts installed custom rooms at $6,000–$17,000.
Which one needs an electrician?
The Monolight One and Duo plug into a standard 120V/15A outlet, per Monolight’s FAQ. The Pro needs a dedicated 20A circuit with a NEMA 5-20R outlet, which may mean an electrician. A SaunaCloud room is built by your contractor from SaunaCloud’s plans; its small Atlas One runs on a standard 120V outlet, and larger rooms are wired to the project spec.
Do both use full-spectrum heaters?
No. Only the Monolight Pro mixes carbon and full-spectrum heaters. The One and Duo are carbon far-infrared, and SaunaCloud builds far-infrared only.
Did you test these saunas?
No. This comparison is built from each brand’s published specs and policies. See how we score.
