A four-person sauna is where most families land: big enough for everyone, small enough for a 30- or 40-amp circuit. Every pick below includes a Harvia electric heater, so the listed price is close to the real price before wiring and delivery. We compared five on price, bench length, heater, circuit and footprint, using Select Saunas’ product pages on Oct 13, 2026. We haven’t tested these saunas ourselves.

*Listed price at Select Saunas on Oct 13, 2026. Select is an Almost Heaven dealer that pays us a commission; its listings don’t always say which door or lumber the price includes, so confirm before you order. Every heater is hardwired to a dedicated 240V circuit, and the light plugs into a 110V/15A outlet. Delivery, foundation and electrical work aren’t included. Note that Select lists the Watoga with a 4.5kW heater; Almost Heaven’s own site specifies 6kW.
The picks, with the tradeoffs
Image: Select SaunasA 71" square room with two full-length 66" benches, so four people sit without crowding and one can lie on the upper bench with knees bent. The 6kW heater runs on a 30A circuit, and two tall windows plus a glass door keep it bright. Tradeoff: you need about a 6-ft square of floor plus door swing, and it weighs 750 lbs assembled.
Image: Select SaunasA red cedar barrel with two facing 64" benches and a 6kW Harvia KIP heater. Barrels shed snow by shape and fit a 6-ft square pad. Compare it with the 2-person Almost Heaven Salem (paid link) in our barrel head-to-head. Tradeoff: one bench level, so everyone sits at the same height.
Image: Select SaunasOnly $113 more than the Grayson, with a 77" upper bench, an L-shaped extension and a lower bench for 4–6 people, built in Nordic spruce with an 8kW heater. Tradeoff: it needs a 240V/40A circuit rather than 30A, and an 80" × 61" footprint.
Image: Select SaunasThe least expensive way to seat up to four: a cedar barrel with two facing 51" benches, 59" deep. Tradeoffs: four is a squeeze on a 51" bench, and Select’s listing comes with a 4.5kW heater, smaller than the 6kW in the Pinnacle. Best for two who sometimes host.
Image: Select SaunasA canopy barrel with two facing 75" interior benches, a 12" covered porch with two small exterior benches, and an 8kW Harvia KIP80B heater. Read our Huntington review. Tradeoff: it’s 95" long and needs a 40A circuit.
How to choose a 4-person sauna
- Count bench inches, not the label. About 16–20" per seated adult is a common rule of thumb, so a 64–66" bench seats four upright, and a 51" bench is snug for four.
- Two bench levels or one? Indoor rooms like the Grayson and Worthington have an upper and lower bench, so people can pick hotter or gentler heat. Barrels have one level.
- Check the circuit. 6kW heaters here need 30A; 8kW heaters need 40A. Get an electrician’s quote before you order.
- Indoor or outdoor? Indoor kits go on concrete or tile; barrels need a level pad outside. See barrel vs cabin and our cold-climate install guide.
